Power stations, refinery and station construction
Powerful in every detail
The world's highest safety standards are applied in the construction and operation of power plants and refineries because of their enormous impact on people, the environment and their considerable technical complexity. These requirements apply to all plants, pipelines and tank farms. Their durable corrosion protection, reliable insulation and permanent sealing ensure occupational and operational safety to prevent accidents and incidents. DENSO’s global innovation, SEALID® All-in-1, provides universal protection for countless applications, such as components with complex geometries, weld seams and long pipe sections.
The SEALID® All-in-1 solution is quick and easy to apply, and protects against corrosion and mechanical loads after just one wrapping process: so you just need one product and no primer. SEALID® All-in-1 is the ideal solution for complicated construction projects and tight project timelines, where it significantly reduces time and effort, while also helping to protect employees and the environment.
Pipelines and fittings that are used to transport hot media or are situated in warm environments can be protected reliably with DENSO®-Cal, which boasts a temperature of +120°C or +248°F.
For decades, our DENSOLEN®-PE/butyl tapes have been successfully applied in the construction of power stations at temperatures of -50°C to +100°C or -58°F to +212°F. Individual product systems can be combined to offer resistance to UV rays, bacteria or electrolytes.
The DENSO®-TB System is a highly effective corrosion protection and at the same time a permanent seal for the transition area between steel and concrete in above-ground tank bottoms. With storage tanks, there is a risk of water and air penetrating into the gaps between the lower steel plate and the concrete base. You simply apply the solvent-free product without drying or preheating, as it is even suitable for damp surfaces. Even with tank movements and temperature changes, the system remains flexible and adaptable.
Station construction: Two challenges – one solution
There are two key challenges affecting soil to air interface areas: Firstly, atmospheric corrosion is different to corrosion that takes place under the ground. Secondly, the interface areas are subject to high mechanical loads and various movements during construction. For decades, our DENSOLEN®-PE/butyl tapes have been successfully used to create seals, provide electrical insulation and prevent corrosion in station construction applications, at temperatures of -50°C to +100°C, or -58°F to +212°F.
